Individual Giving

Individual donors are essential to AFI’s success. Your gifts help us change lives, and you can trust that your dollars make a difference – 100% of every dollar you give goes directly to AFI’s programs.

Individuals can support AFI in a variety of ways: annual gifts, tribute gifts, special events, planned gifts, and in-kind gifts.

Thank you for considering a gift to AFI. Your generosity allows us to continue providing high-quality services for our clients – services that are necessary for them to become respected and contributing members of our community.  If you would like to designate your gift to a specific program, please contact Dan Berman at 863.665.3846 or dberman@afi-fl.org.

Become an AFI Hero

AFI Heroes are donors who give $1000 or more annually. Members receive AFI’s publications and are recognized at the Annual Community Dinner. Donate now or call Dan Berman at 863.665.3846 to discuss your gift.

Tribute Gifts

Tribute gifts are a unique way of honoring family and friends. Make a charitable donation to AFI to commemorate special events such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, achievements, and retirements. Tributes also serve as meaningful expressions of sympathy. You and the individual you designate will receive an acknowledgment of your contribution without reference to the amount.

Special Events

Throughout the year, AFI organizes several special events to support our programs. The Wine Festival of Central Florida is AFI’s largest event that attracts over 1,700 wine lovers to the Lake Mirror Promenade each March. Participants can sample hundreds of different wines from a variety of select vineyards, food samplings from over 30 different chefs and restaurants and a bevy of craft beers and liquors. Other special events include our Annual Swing For Independence Golf Tournament and our 62nd Annual Community Dinner. Look for information on these special events in your mailbox, on our website or via facebook.

Planned Gifts

Have you considered a planned gift for Alliance for Independence?

Naming AFI in your will or as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy ensures that our important work continues.

Providing for the needs of your loved ones should always be first and foremost in your plans, and making a Legacy gift should not substantially alter their well-being. Legacy gift techniques typically used to provide for AFI include bequests in wills or trusts, creation of a charitable trust or foundation, with AFI as a designated beneficiary, or by including AFI as a named beneficiary of life insurance proceeds. Legacy gifts are generally made by those who support AFI during their lifetime and wish to continue that support after death.

Donor privacy policy

AFI places the highest priority on protecting the privacy of our donors and volunteers.  All donor information is held in strict confidence. Donor/volunteer information is never traded or sold.

If at any time you wish to be removed from any of our communications lists or if you have other questions or concerns, simply contact us at 863.665.3846 ext. 222.
